I'm not sure if you can tell, but the forest is supposed to be a figment of her imagination because she's in a dark room... This image is supposed to be a representation of finding freedom in your mind, in your imagination, in art.

I always feel its through creative expression that I'm the most honest about who I am and what I'm feeling. I'm never this open in real life, outside dA, because I tend to withdraw, I'm a terrible verbal communicator and I always feel like I have to live up to an ideal or meet other people's expectations. I'm slowly starting to feel more and more like it's okay to be me rather than something else. And it's sad to only find this freedom now, but it's also a wonderful thing to finally find it in the art I've been able to create So... all of that went into this artwork and I hope at least some of it comes across!
